This much knitting requires a lot of yarn! Ellie uses about eight skeins a day by herself -- and that's just one person. Almost half the volunteers are senior citizens with most of them on a fixed income and every skein that is donated is a big help. We use mainly acrylic yarn because it is machine washable. We use a lot of white -- a cheerful addition to a blanket. Blue is the most requested color by both men and women, with green a close second.

We mail the items to people outside the Atlanta area so we can use help with postage also. Ellie's Angels is a non profit tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3),and all donations are fully tax deductible.
