Some of the Hand-Made Blankets

What it is all about...

... Ellie tries to help all that request her help...

Meet Ellie     Ellie's Angels Philosophy:

Kindness and warmth for those of all races, religions or creeds.  No request for a blanket, lap-robe or simple act of kindness is ever refused.

Ellie's Angels began back in 1989 with a single gesture of kindness to someone who was sick and homeless.

Ellie's mission began that day and along with over 500 volunteers, continues to help thousands of men, women, and children, as they struggle with life and death issues.

We remind the world that God's message of Love and understanding extends to all of mankind.

The message is always the same, " No person should ever be alone and cold."

"House Of Dreams is a Portland, Oregon, free roam, no-kill cat shelter, and the place
where the idea for "Knits from the Heart" was born. In the fall of 2001, after
volunteering at the shelter every Thursday afternoon since 1999, I organized what
became the first annual Pretty Kitty Holiday Craft Bazaar fund-raising event. I was
amazed at the generosity of the shelter’s volunteers and the community at large in
donating beautiful hand made items for our fund-raiser. Repeatedly people shared
how good they felt about taking the time to create something by hand and then
releasing it to benefit another. It is my intention that "Knits from the Heart" will help
more people discover the happiness that comes of generously sharing one’s talents
with the world.
